Angel Surrrounded with Bubbles Being Blown by Families
"..Bubbles can only be seen
for a moment
before they disappear,
but even for a brief time,
how beautiful they are.
..Though we can no longer see our babies,
We know they were here,
and they were beautiful."

October: Pregnancy and Infant Loss Awareness Month: Thanks to coming together, we were able to bring our group and the Pregnancy and Newborn Loss Community's issues and needs into focus. Here are some of our "Outrech for Healing Programs" (The March of Dimes, SA Memorial Services, Press Releases and Recognition) and some of our Advocacy and Awareness Successes! THANKS to ALL who helped make these a reality for SA and our community.

1.
Holiday Support - November 16 from 7 to 9 pm - Women's Candlelighting: Please try to RSVP We come together to share and remember during the holiday season. Please consider joining us for a very special evening.
2.
10.23.11 SA 10th Anniversary Angel Garden Memorial Service: THANKS to ALL who participated and who gathered together on this beautiful fall day! The sun was shining and the ceremony was touching. As the balloons and bubbles floated up into the clear sky, there was a sense of comfort and peace. You can see much of this on the link to our Memorial page.
3.
Pictures of Parents...These express what "SHARE Atlanta IS" - 10.17.11 SA "The Significance of You and Your Baby" Women's Group Meeting: We had 12 moms come and share their mementos and special keepsakes as well as some verse and thoughts. We discussed how important it is to name our babies and to make them a "part of who we are." Grief can gradually ease if we know our love for our babies will always be there. Mementos, Outreach, and Sharing help us to heal.
4.
10.12.11 "Circle of Healing" - 2 hour Inservice with 70 High Risk OB Nurses: 6 SA moms (Alyse Jones, Erin Dickerson, Nikecia Ingram, Alisha Lenzen, Pam Slayback, Lauren Irvin) joined me at the Wellstar Development Center. As usual, we had a very positive exchange about issues such as what to say/do and not say/do, how to support parents, and why SA is a good resource. The nurses were very appreciative of our thoughts and of the blanket packets that we gave as door prizes.
5.
September - March of Dimes #1 Downtown Family Team Award! Since 2005, we have placed #1! That means we raised over $30,000 in memory of our precious babies for healthy babies!
6.
October and Angel Garden Memorial Advocacy and Awareness PR: Thanks to several sources, our group and The Pregnancy and Newborn Loss Community's issues and needs were highlighted online and on TV! We had 3 online pieces: "The Love Stays..forever in our hearts" by Jas Gabbidon of the Examiner.com ; 2 pieces - "SA Memorial Service Honors Babies Lost to Pregnancy or Newborn Loss" by SA mom, Kathy Powell. Then, WSB TV's Jocelyn Dorsey embraced us on People 2 People with a beautiful segment filmed at our memorial service. Our thanks to SA mom, Kathy who wrote the 2 Patch pieces and invited WSB to film us. Thanks to Jocelyn Dorsey and WSB and to Jas Gibbidon for her October awareness piece. These are Advocacy works at there best!
