You can MARCH AT ANY LOCATION or MARCH DATE or on YOUR OWN TEAM. For the credit to go to SHARE ATLANTA, you will need to still register with the SHARE ATLANTA Team so that all your online fundraising efforts will go to that team. If there is any offline fundraising money you will need to turn that money in at a Downtown Walk “Bank Day location “, (locations and day TBD) or mail a check to the MOD Office (1776 Peachtree Street NW, Suite 100, Atlanta GA 30309). Then, the day of the walk, all you need to do is show up at the walk of your choice, walk, and have fun!

Email Cindy if you have ANY questions.

WHY MARCH WITH SA?

Marching for SA Opens Many Doors.

  • MODS is finding answers to birth defects, prematurity, and other pregnancy loss issues. Many of the issues that cause prematurity cause stillbirth. They are also looking at progesterone therapy..a key miscarriage prevention. They also provide literature and a comprehensive website that discusses ways to support pregnancies, grief after a pregnancy or newborn loss, different types of loss issues, etc.

  • Our marching also helps others become aware of our group and what our mission is. When we are number ONE DOWNTOWN Top Family Team (because of the size of our fundraising), we are awarded one of 10 possible Chairman's Club TENTS. Our Chairman’s Club TENT allows us to support grieving parents during the annual walk. When we travel to the Volunteer Conference to receive the National Top Ten Award, 300 plus people from around the country share in our stories, and we share their stories.

  • The MODS' Outreach gives bereaved parents and their family and friends a positive way to remember a very special baby. SA parents have found that supporting the March of Dimes gives our family and friends a positive, concrete way to show their support for parents. When they realize that you are marching in memory of your baby, they want to be your sponsor as a way to support you.

  • SA Mini-Newsletters since 2005's Success

We have been the Top Downtown Family Team since 2004 and Top 10 National Family Team since 2005! These tell why many of our parents join this campaign.

Below are 3 touching Videos about premature babies, and in the third one - the death of a twin baby. Be gentle with yourself, if these stories will bring out issues for you on your healing journey, please do not view it at this time. I include them because they do tell a great deal of what MODS is working towards.

  • 2011's Ambassador Family's Story...

  • Katelyn’s Story - 2009 Ambassador Child - This video is about a premature baby and her survival being connected to the MODS research. It is very touching.

Cindy and I had a wonderful time playing with Katelyn and visiting with her mom and dad, Ashley and Mike, at the 2008 Volunteer Conference. They also were a Top Ten Family Team during the last 3 years so we had gotten to know Mike and Ashley. This was the first time we met Katelyn. She is a joy!!

  • Shining a Light on Infant Mortality: Jack and Kate's Story

This story more closely parallels our stories. Two premature babies...one survives - one dies. This video is about Jack and Kate. The March of Dimes is one of the few organizations that now recognizes that some babies die and that answers are needed for as many issues as we can find answers to. We embrace the March of Dimes for many reasons, and this is one of them. Again, this video is very touching and intense.

We outreach to others in many ways by our efforts with MODS.
