Pregnancy and Infant Loss Month
Awareness Pin

Dear All,

This is a reminder about SA's annual fall Memorial Services and activities. We join together to remember, honor, and celebrate our baby's short presence with us and the love we will have for our child - forever. Our Fall newsletter highlighted all of our fall activities and memorials as we recognize October as Pregnancy and Infant Loss Awareness Month and move into our participation with our memorial tree for Festival of Trees.

Please visit one of these links to find out more about these activities..click on the icons to visit the pages...

Be sure to e-mail Marcia your baby's name so it can be called out during the program and be included in our written program. Please send your baby's name for the written program by Oct. 13. You can add names to the called out litany on the day of the program.

  • Details about our 2006 Festival of Trees "Forever in our Hearts" memorial tree and ornaments that you send or bring to us to put on the tree in memory of your baby. Please email me your baby's name for our tree (we include them on the tree and in a written litany both on our site and at the festival). This needs to be done by November 18th to be included on our tree.

E-mail Marcia your baby's name either specify "MS" for the Memorial Service Litany or "FOT" for the Festival of Tree's Litany (or both!) in the subject line of your email.

I will be placing pictures of these gatherings on our site and in our next newsletter.

Oct. 8th "Walk to Remember" started in memory of two special babies....

An additional October event, in our area, is the "Walk to Remember" ~ the month of October as Awareness month and our precious babies. This event is held on Oct. 8 from 2 to 4 in Roswell this year. For more information, email Michelle Epstein, one of the two volunteer moms who thought of and created this event two years ago. Megan is the second mom who co-chairs this event with Michelle. Northside Hospital helps to sponsor this event.

SA will have our SA display table and information there, and two of our volunteer moms, Suzanne and Reece, will be there to share with you. We thank Michelle for her kind offer to have us share with them on this day. Working together in our community is important as we wish to bring more focus to the issues and specialness of the Pregnancy and Newborn Loss Community.

    E-mail Michelle.

    Memorial Brick Orders:

November 1st is the date for getting your memorial brick order to Jennifer.

Highlight Awareness and Our Love for our Babies...

At all of our events, consider wearing your awareness and memorial pins (your SA angel pin) or bracelets. We will have awareness pins, car magnets, and brochures at each of our events. At our Women's candlelighting, you are invited to bring mementos to place on our Memorial table to share with one another. We bring to each occasion our special baby's presence and the desire to support one another.

Memorial Ideas and October Awareness Support:

  • Bracelet's of Hope From SHARE Atlanta's Kim Shiftlett. Kim has October Awareness bracelets and a car magnets to help us "get the word out," and she makes beautiful memorial bracelets and other treasures ...

  • This page has links to ideas for healing. Ideas for portraits, mementos, etc...

"The Significance of You and Your Baby"...October's Meeting Topic

This topic encourages our parents to bring to the meetings: mementos, pictures or special thoughts about their baby. Every time we respond to others, or take part in an event or important activity, we honor our own and other parents' children, and we become advocates for the Pregnancy and Newborn Loss Community's issues and needs. Making our children's presence meaningful in our lives is important for healing. We will talk about our special relationship with our baby and how to care for it.

November: Women's Candlelighting and Other Meetings will focus on "Grief and the Holidays"

December: There are no scheduled grief groups in December.

Days of and Directions to our meetings - all meet from 7 to 9 pm.

Each time we gather together ~

We hope that these special services, activities such as our festival memorial tree and our meetings - all in memory of all of our babies, help to bring you hope, peace and continued healing. As we share together, we know that the love we feel for our children will be forever in our hearts.

(See below for additional links for related information.)

    Take care,

    Marcia

The love stays...forever in our hearts.
