Marcia's Bio: I have had several ask me how I got to this place with the website and group. Here is a little more about my background.

Marcia holds a Masters Degree in Elementary Education with a minor in psychology. She has taught in elementary school, directed a religious education program, was an assistant theater-school manager, directed church plays and programs, and homeschooled the couples two sons, Joel and Aaron.

She was co-founder of SHARE Atlanta in 1984, after two miscarriages, Catherine and Elizabeth, and the death of Seth at two days old. As the years have passed, she has served on most of the organizations committees, and facilitated as president for many of the last 17 years. Marcia is proud of the twenty plus volunteers who help to keep this outreach alive.

Marcia has had numerous classes in grief education. One program that she took, taught at her church, and used many of its principles in SHARE Atlanta's groups, is Mary Joe Hannaford's Windows Program. This program can be found online under Active Parenting.

Marcia also took a workshop under Marilyn Gyte and has given or participated with many workshops for groups such as Joy Johnson's workshop, SIDS, TCF, SHARE National Bereavement Conference, RTS local training sessions, etc. For more details about what SHARE Atlanta has achieved please look under SHARE Atlanta Information/Details.

All this has been accomplished with the support of her husband and friend, Leon, and with God's guidance and love. 12/2002
