We had an unanimous vote of YES today from the Health and Human Services Senate Committee! No questions were asked and actually several were shaking their heads, yes. Senator Orrock privately thanked Erin for sharing some of her story. It was short..we had prepared for 30 minutes as we had been told, but it was more like 5 minutes. We had our Overview that we gave them. Senator Weber introduced us. Then I spoke briefly on our overview. Then, Erin briefly told her story. Senator Weber had told us just prior to the beginning that they were in favor of this bill! So, we felt good already. It is obvious that Senator Weber has been speaking with different members because he shared some thoughts from some of the senators. He was was able to address any questions with them BEFORE today because of what we have included in our draft AND overview. So, he has helped us greatly! So many thank yous are going to be needed!! What a positive thought!

THANK YOUS: If one of these senators is in your district, please email them a "thank you" for voting in favor of the No Heartbeat Act/Senate Bill 381. They will ALL have to vote on it AGAIN once it gets to the floor...we need their support then, too. It is NOT over...but it is looking good. We have to keep on supporting their supporting of us! A thank you to Senator Weber is good, too. They do not have to do this, but they are choosing to and our thank yous are important.

Senator Williams, District 19 - one of our sponsors, came over to us and said some very positive thoughts to us. We are very appreciative of his support. If you are in his District, please email him a 'thank you" for his support.

ALSO, THANK YOU for letting us know that you are getting in contact with the Senators. It is making a difference. They want to hear from EVERYONE who wants this. They DO read emails. I was afraid that they might not, but we were told, today, by several legislative assistants that they do. And, several of you have told me that you have received responses from them.

Let us know if you make contact. It does help Erin and I to know that you are behind us...both in thought and/or prays and with reaching out to our Senators.

NEXT STEP: The next step is the Rules committee either tomorrow or early in the week. Several who voted yes today are on that committee. Senator Weber is on this committee as well. We do not have to attend this meeting.

VOTE ON SENATE FLOOR: The last step is the vote on the senate floor. Senator Weber told me that he actually thinks it might be ON THE FLOOR of the SENATE by early in the week..or midweek! As in NEXT WEEEK!!!

CAN YOU HELP IN PERSON: Let us know if you *might* be available to be in the gallery (to show support and to cheer us on!!) - on rather short notice - next week. We will know more about what we actually will have to do after the Rules Committee meeting. If need be, several people could ride down with us - if we can work it out! Sorry we can't be more concise about the exact time, but this is the way it goes!!

I hope this email makes sense...I am happily very tired!! So, if it doesn't wait until next time!!!LOL I wanted to get this great news out!!

We are one step closer to a Certificate of Birth Resulting in Stillbirth for Georgian Families!!

Isn't this a wonderful Valentine's Day gift!

Take care, Marcia and Erin The love stays...forever in our hearts.
